Medicare Supplement

also Known as Medigap Policies

Medicare Supplement plans also known as Medigap policies provide payments for covering deductibles, co-payments, and coinsurance that individuals will be responsible for on Original Medicare. So as the name implies, the supplement plan fills in the gaps.

Medicare eligible recipients have a 6-month window when turning 65 and signing up for Medicare Part B to join a Medicare Supplement Plan with guaranteed issue. If you miss your guaranteed issue period and have not had other creditable coverage you can still apply for a Medicare Supplement plan.  In that case, please be aware there is an underwriting process by the carrier to determine acceptance into a plan.

Medicare Supplement plans are offered by private insurance companies, and most states offer all or some combination of the 10 standardized approved plans: A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M and N. Medicare Supplement plans allow members to go to any doctor nationwide that accepts Medicare.

We can help you look at the differences in the plans offered and which may be optimal for your situation. It is important to know that just because the Medicare Supplement plans are standardized, the rates for the plans differ between different carriers. At Newbrooke Insurance we will shop rates for you. We sell and service Medicare Supplement Plans in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, Utah, and the District of Columbia.
